TUNISIAONLINENEWS- The Italian Moncada Energy group, a wind farm technology manufacturer and a leading producer of renewable energy, announced the launch of a project for the construction of a wind farm with a 500 MW capacity in Tunisia during the second half of 2009.

The announcement comes after the group’s decision to strengthen its position on the international wind energy market .

Over the next five years the group will build several wind farms in Tunisia, Albania, Romania,Bulgaria and Mozambique .

Moncada Energy Group already owns five fully operational wind farms , situated in the district of Agrigento in Italy.

Tunisia which is heavily investing in renewable clean energy has already set up a guide of potential wind farming sites in te country. The guide dubbed “Atlas Eolien de la Tunisie” is the result of a joint partnership between the energy rationalization Agency (ANME) and Spain’s centre of renewable energies.

So far, Tunisia is harvesting wind energy from windfarms set up in Sidi Daoud (55 MW) and more recently in Bizerta with a capacity of 120 MW."
