Interview with Kevin Sara, Managing Director of NUR Energie: "Nur Energie was born from the idea put forward by scientists that vast deserts of North Africa could be used for solar power.

Several years ago, we undertook a long study of the countries of North Africa with a particular emphasis on evaluating the political stability and economic openness.

Another important factor was geographic proximity to important European markets such as Italy. We chose to establish ourselves first in Tunisia before any other North African country because, according to our selection criteria, it best fits our requirements of political and economic stability and market access.

NUR Energie’s ambition is to develop large- scale solar energy power plants in the Sahara desert to produce clean carbon- free electricity."
