Waste to Energy Co-Operation Initiative for Tunisia and South Korea - Waste Mangagement World: "5 October 2010

In an effort to boost co-operation in the management of organic waste to energy developments between Tunisia and South Korea, Tunis has hosted a working session between delegates of the two nations.

The event was chaired by Mr. Nadhir Hamada Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development. a delegation of experts and representatives from Korean environmental institutions took part in the event.

Mr. Nadhir Hamada stressed President Ben Ali's interest in strengthening co-operation between both countries, placing emphasis on the importance of Korean experience in waste management and environmental techniques.

He also stressed that bilateral co-operation started within the framework of the installation project of a national air-quality monitoring network, calling to speed up the implementation of joint projects.

The Korean delegation expressed willingness to boost implementation of projects and back up Tunisia's candidacy for the position of regional representative in the Korea-headquartered international 'Global Green Growth' centre.

The Korean delegation also voiced the hope that Tunisian experts take part in the 'Forum, Water, Korea' event, to be held next November, In Korea."
